This role play would focus on young people's rights to privacy, protection from discrimination and the right to a safe environment and will be linked to Data Protection Day (DPD) on 28 January 2011.
This topic aims to empower young people to raise their voice and influence matters that affect their lives, ensuring them their right to freedom of speech on issues of concern but also raising their awareness to the discriminatory nature of certain portrayals of youth in news programmes and through advertising.
The objective of this role-play is to develop resolutions to be presented to the European Parliament on data Protection Day and to move focus to the importance of listening to the voice of youth, both for the general public and the media.
